In the early days of your baby’s life, connection is everything. It’s how they learn they’re safe and loved. One way to deepen that connection is by performing infant massage techniques.

At The Mindful Mama, I believe in the healing power of touch and the deep, intuitive bond between parent and child. That’s why we offer both in-person and virtual infant massage classes—so you can learn this beautiful practice wherever you may be or feel comfortable!


What Is Infant Massage?

Infant massage is a form of touch therapy. Typically performed by using gentle holds, glides and other motions with or without oil. The purpose is to benefit growth or soothe baby when dealing with specific issues like teething and tummy trouble. Infant massage is a simple, soothing way to nurture your baby’s physical, emotional, and developmental well-being.

Whether you’re a parent or caregiver, infant massage offers a wealth of benefits for both baby and their parents/caregivers:

For Baby:

  • Promotes better sleep and relaxation

  • Helps ease gas, colic, and constipation, congestion, teething

  • Supports healthy circulation and digestion

  • Boosts body awareness and sensory development

  • Promotes bone and muscle development

  • Encourages secure attachment and bonding

For The Parent/Caregiver:

Our infant massage classes are thoughtfully designed to guide you through techniques in a way that’s nurturing, and heart centered. You’ll learn how to safely and effectively massage your baby, how to read their cues, and how to incorporate touch into your daily rhythm with intention and love.

  • In-Person Classes (for local families wanting hands-on guidance)

  • Group Classes (held occasionally in the Birmingham area for foundational understanding of infant massage)

  • Virtual Classes (for parents and caregivers, from the comfort of their own home)

Each class features supportive instruction, with room for questions, sharing, and connection. Whether you join us from your living room or in our cozy space, you’ll be met with warmth, care, and support.
